Percent of business in Illinois by line:
Commercial: 99%  Personal: 1%
Premium Volume: $1 Million

Are you currently appointing new agents? Yes

What type of agency is your company looking for? We are looking for agencies with specialty needs.  Our facilities, on a brokerage basis, include transportation (trucking, garage liability . . .), small business commercial lines (Property and GL primarily), brokerage (larger or more difficult lines) and specialty personal lines.

What are your premium volume requirements? (In profit sharing? In life?) Minimum specialty volume is $25,000 over a rolling '12'.

Are you currently doing any niche-marketing program? It is all niche:  trucking, day care centers, habitational, contractors, generally all good risks not desired by the standard marketplace.

What is your company’s most aggressive line of business? All of the above, the more difficult the risk exposure, the better we perform.

Do you use credit scoring? Limited

What methods do you use to distribute your insurance products? Independent agents

What do you think makes your company different, or stand out from all the rest in Illinois? Why would an agent want to contract with your company? Responsiveness.  We are quicker than the competition.  We also have more new business underwriters than most specialty houses and we represent some of the finest insurance companies in the country or outside, include London.  We are pursuing Illinois with aggression and have just begun to join the associations in order to heighten our profile.  Another key is we have a limited customer base which makes for almost a franchise effect when new appointments are made.

If we had agents agree to sell homeowners policies with actual cash value endorsements, would you write more business in southern Illinois? Won’t have an effect.

Please list your Marketing Representatives and the territory they cover:
Sara Beth Tracy, Senior Sales Representative, will travel virtually anywhere in Illinois needed.  We are looking for true partners and want to appoint agencies with strong specialty needs.
