Federal Legislative Conference

Wednesday, April 20th - Friday, April 22nd, 2005

The Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America (IIABA) National Legislative Conference is the insurance industry’s largest and most effective legislative gathering. Annually, more than 800 independent agents and brokers travel to the nation’s capital for this important event and to personally lobby their members of Congress on insurance and small business issues important to their livelihood.

Highlights of the conference include an in-depth legislative issues briefing session; meetings with Senators Obama, Durbin and all Congressmen; several social/networking opportunities, such as the annual IIABA Congressional Reception on Capitol Hill; appearances by several high-profile political speakers discussing the important insurance and national issues confronting lawmakers and agents in Washington.

Our individual meetings with the congressional delegation help establish a dialogue and understanding of insurance and small business issues between PIIAI members and their elected representatives in the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate.

PIIAI is preparing to send a delegation of agents to the National Legislative Conference for the 12th consecutive year. First-time participants will be paid by PIIAI.
